WASH Coordinator

Role Title: DART WASH Coordinator (Volunteer)
Location: Deployable (Domestic & International Disaster Response)
Commitment: Disaster deployments (minimum 3 weeks), with training and preparation throughout the year

We’re looking for a practical, compassionate, and mission-minded volunteer to join the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) as a WASH Coordinator.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Access to safe drinking water is one of the most urgent needs following a disaster. As the WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) Coordinator, you’ll help provide clean water solutions for both DART team members and disaster-affected communities. From assessing water needs and installing filtration systems to training local communities in their use and maintenance, you’ll play a vital role in protecting health, restoring dignity, and building long-term resilience.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

● Assess water needs and identify safe drinking water solutions in disaster-affected communities

● Install and commission water filtration systems in the field

● Coordinate the distribution of household and community water filtration units

● Train local communities in the correct use, maintenance, and care of filtration systems

● Promote good hygiene and safe water practices to improve community health

● Work closely with the Team Leader and Logistics Coordinator to plan and deliver WASH activities

● Monitor the effectiveness of WASH interventions and support sustainable water solutions

WHO YOU ARE

● Passionate about improving health, dignity, and wellbeing through practical humanitarian work

● Comfortable with hands-on technical work and problem-solving in the field

● Able to explain practical concepts clearly and confidently train others

● Organised, adaptable, and able to work effectively in challenging environments

● A strong team player with excellent communication skills

● Experience with water systems, plumbing, engineering, WASH programs, or humanitarian work is an advantage

● Motivated by purpose and committed to making a meaningful difference
