Transforming Cambodia, One Patient at a Time

Our recent medical mission to Cambodia was a truly humbling experience. From treating minor ailments to delivering life-saving medications, our team made a tangible difference in the lives of countless individuals. It’s inspiring to witness the impact of our medical mission, one patient at a time.

One particularly heartwarming moment was witnessing a young mother’s joy as she heard the heartbeat of her 17-week-old baby for the very first time. Her expression of pure happiness was truly inspiring!

We also had the privilege of meeting Sam, a remarkable woman whose husband, a General in the Cambodian Army, embraced faith during an early GAiN mission in 2005. This pivotal moment opened doors for GAiN’s community clinics. Despite initial resistance, Sam eventually accepted the gospel after witnessing her husband’s transformation and the compassionate work of GAiN. She now passionately supports the organisation.

During our final medical clinic, Dr. Kristine encountered a family facing multiple health issues. A young girl, around 2 years old, suffered from skin problems exacerbated by scratching, leading to bleeding lesions. Her 10-year-old brother suffered from a painful ear infection, and their mother was also dealing with skin-related issues.

Upon further inquiry, it became clear that the root cause of these problems was exposure to contaminated river water.

The 10-year-old boy received immediate treatment with an ear wash and antibiotics. The mother and daughter were provided with appropriate medications to address their skin conditions. Dr. Kristine also emphasised the importance of using boiled water for washing, a crucial preventive measure.

Cases like these are unfortunately common among impoverished villagers who lack access to clean water. It’s essential to provide not only medical treatment but also education on good hygiene practices to achieve long-lasting health improvements.

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve the people of Cambodia and make a positive impact on their lives. Your generous support and donations have made this mission possible. Thank you!
