On Friday 28 March, a devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake ripped through Myanmar (Burma), leaving a trail of destruction and despair. Over 3,000 lives have been tragically lost, and at least 4,671 people are directly affected.

GAiN Australia helped in the 2011 Myanmar earthquake disaster relief operations and we sent our medical mission team to Myanmar in 2013. In the face of this disaster, our local partners are now desperately asking for immediate help.

A state of emergency has been declared in the six most impacted regions – Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Shan and Nay Pyi Taw.

In Mandalay, second-biggest city in Myanmar, heartbroken survivors are using their bare hands to dig through the rubble, desperately trying to save loved ones trapped beneath collapsed buildings. They lack the essential heavy machinery, and in some areas, authorities are absent, leaving communities to fend for themselves. The need for immediate assistance is overwhelming.

We urgently need your support for families in need of food, water, shelter, and medical supplies. Please consider donating and praying for the families in Myanmar.

Will you help support those affected by the Myanmar Earthquake?

Time is critical. Your swift action can provide the resources needed to reach survivors trapped in rubble and deliver essential aid to those left with nothing.

All donations to GAiN are tax-deductible.
