Role Title: DART Medical Coordinator (Volunteer)
Location: Deployable (Domestic & International Disaster Response)
Commitment: Disaster deployments (minimum 3 weeks), with training and preparation throughout the year

We’re looking for an organised, compassionate, and people-focused volunteer to join the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) as a Medical Coordinator.

ABOUT THE ROLE

In the aftermath of a disaster, visiting medical and psychological teams provide vital care to affected communities. As the Medical Coordinator, you’ll ensure these teams are well-prepared, supported, and equipped to deliver their services effectively. From coordinating logistics and outreach locations to liaising with local health authorities and caring for visiting teams, you’ll play a key role in helping medical outreach run smoothly and make a lasting impact.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

● Coordinate the logistics and operational support for visiting medical and psychological teams

● Assist with planning outreach schedules, locations, and deployment activities

● Arrange accommodation, transport, translators, meals, and other practical support

● Liaise with local hospitals, clinics, health authorities, and community partners

● Provide orientation, guidance, and ongoing support to visiting teams

● Support the Team Leader with planning, communication, and operational coordination

● Help ensure outreach activities are delivered professionally, efficiently, and with cultural sensitivity

WHO YOU ARE

● Qualified or experienced in first aid, healthcare, or emergency response

● A strong organiser who enjoys coordinating people and resources

● An excellent communicator with the ability to build positive relationships

● Calm, adaptable, and able to solve problems in dynamic environments

● Passionate about serving communities through humanitarian work

● Comfortable working across cultures and supporting diverse teams

● Experience coordinating projects, logistics, outreach programs, or volunteer teams is an advantage

● Motivated by purpose and committed to making a meaningful difference
