Role Title: DART IT Specialist (Volunteer)
Location: Deployable (Domestic & International Disaster Response)
Commitment: Disaster deployments (minimum 3 weeks), with training and preparation throughout the year
We’re looking for a skilled, adaptable, and solution-focused volunteer to join the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) as an IT Specialist.
Reliable communication is essential during disaster response. As the IT Specialist, you’ll ensure the DART team has dependable technology, communication systems, and technical support to operate effectively in challenging environments. From configuring devices and maintaining internet connectivity to troubleshooting equipment and establishing communication solutions, your expertise will help keep the team connected and mission-ready.

● Set up, maintain, and support laptops, mobile devices, satellite communications, routers, and other technical equipment
● Troubleshoot IT and communication issues to minimise operational disruptions
● Configure devices, communication platforms, and user access for deployment teams
● Support internet connectivity and communication systems in the field
● Source and coordinate local communication resources such as SIM cards and data services when required
● Maintain inventories of technical equipment and ensure devices remain operational throughout deployments
● Support the Team Leader and field teams with practical IT solutions and technical advice
● Experienced in IT support, telecommunications, or technical systems
● A practical problem solver who enjoys troubleshooting and finding solutions
● Organised, adaptable, and able to work independently in challenging environments
● Calm under pressure and able to respond quickly to technical issues
● A collaborative team player with strong communication skills
● Passionate about using technology to support humanitarian operations
