From Student Volunteer to Qualified Doctor

There's something truly remarkable about watching a medical clinic come to life.

Behind every prescription handed out, every pair of glasses fitted, and every consultation, there are real individuals with unique stories, families, and hope for the future.

During our recent medical outreach in Cambodia, our team had the privilege of serving 928 people, including 332 children. Together with our local partners, we distributed 196 pairs of eyeglasses, 49 pairs of sunglasses, 115 LuoPad kits, and 160 toothbrushes.

While the numbers give a snapshot of the scope, the real heart of the mission was found in the personal connections, community partnership, and local leadership stepping forward.

One of the most encouraging aspects of this mission was seeing local leaders and community members take ownership of healthcare in their own neighborhoods.

We were deeply honoured by a visit from several local district chiefs who came by our clinic to thank the team and express their solidarity with the mission. Seeing local authorities stand together with us was an encouraging sign of shared vision for community health.

Even more inspiring was seeing local healthcare workers step into key roles. A special moment was meeting a local who previously served alongside our team as a student volunteer return this time as a fully qualified doctor! Seeing that full-circle journey from student to leader captures exactly what sustainable, community-led empowerment is all about.

While medical consultations were underway, our kids’ outreach team was busy creating a welcoming, fun environment for the 332 children who visited us.

A highlight for the little children was having one of our team members step into full balloon-making mode, shaping custom balloon animals that brought endless smiles and laughter to the clinic grounds. These moments of joy help turn what could be an intimidating medical visit into a warm, positive experience for local families.

Dim Soeun caught a lift with friends from a neighbouring village to attend our medical clinic. He was looking for relief from ongoing health challenges that had been weighing on him.

Our team tested his blood sugar and provided much-needed help. He also received medication for persistent lower back pain that had been affecting his left leg.

Beyond the medical care, Dim Soeun had a chance to rest and connect with our team. Leaving with practical treatment and encouragement, his visit was a clear reminder of why accessible care matters.

Impact like this is only possible through strong partnership.

Thank you for your partnership, prayers, and ongoing support. Together, we are delivering immediate relief and empowering Cambodian communities for a healthier future.
