Clean Water, Renewed Lives.
Can you imagine not being able to find water to drink? Or not being confident that the water you find is safe to drink?
The beautiful Fijian Islands are surrounded by pristine ocean but many of its people cannot access safe water. Some buy bottled water to drink but many cannot afford this. You can help bring both clean and living water to where it’s needed.
GAiN and Fiji CCC, in partnership with Filter of Hope are joining in Fiji this July to bring hope to people in need by distributing water filters to families.
“We asked the village to identify those most in need, and who could least afford to buy bottled water. Mostly, the sick and the elderly. The filters provided clean drinking water. The taste is better and the water is safer.”
–Jeanette from Fiji CCC
Filter of Hope is a straight-forward solution to a big problem. The filter is a simple device that has tiny hollow-fibre membranes which filter out harmful bacteria and microorganisms. The filter can be installed in about 15 minutes and clean water flows instantly. More details from the suppliers of these amazing filters can be found here.
This mission trip will cost GAiN $3,500 per volunteer to cover air fares, travel insurance, international SOS registration, accommodation, transportation, and food. This amount also includes the costs of the water filters. At $100 each, we hope to distribute around 150 filters during the mission.
Volunteers may wish to ask their church and other contacts to partner with GAiN and make a donation to the trip, or make a donation to the trip themselves, so that the costs involved can be covered.
All donations to this Filter of Hope project are tax-deductible and non-refundable.
If you are interested in joining this mission, please complete the application below. Participants will be selected according to suitability and team composition. The trip viability will be subject to adequate donation funding and suitable applications being received.

💧
Each small filter is packed with tiny, hollow, perforated tubes. The perforations are just 0.1 micron in diameter.
💧
Dirty, contaminated water enters the tubes, passes through the holes, and exits the filter as crystal clear, clean water!
💧
Harmful bacteria and microorganisms are simply too large to fit through the holes, so they remain inside the filter casing and are then removed by routine back-flushing.
