Role Title: DART Accountant (Volunteer)
Location: Deployable (Domestic & International Disaster Response)
Commitment: Disaster deployments (minimum 3 weeks), with training and preparation throughout the year
We’re looking for a dependable, organised, and service-minded volunteer to join the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) as an Accountant.
This volunteer role is for people who are passionate about using their financial skills to serve communities affected by disasters. When disaster strikes, every dollar entrusted to the mission helps bring hope to people in crisis. As the DART Accountant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring mission funds are managed with integrity, transparency, and accountability, allowing relief teams to respond effectively while maintaining the highest standards of financial stewardship. If you’re experienced in bookkeeping, finance, or administration and want to use your skills to make a meaningful difference, this is an opportunity to serve where it matters most.
● Manage mission funds, cash flow, and field payments during disaster deployments
● Maintain accurate financial records, expense tracking, and daily reconciliations
● Organise receipts and supporting documentation for accountability and reporting
● Support the Team Leader with financial advice, reporting, and compliance
● Coordinate with local suppliers, banks, and service providers when required
● Ensure financial processes align with organisational policies and customs requirements
● Help ensure mission resources are stewarded responsibly to maximise impact
● Organised, detail-oriented, and trustworthy
● Experienced in bookkeeping, accounting, finance, or office administration
● Comfortable managing finances in dynamic and challenging environments
● Calm under pressure and able to work independently
● A strong team player with excellent communication skills
● Passionate about serving people affected by disasters
● Motivated by purpose and committed to making a practical difference
