Our First-Ever Medical Mission Project in Fiji

We are incredibly excited to share the breakthrough success of our first-ever medical mission pilot project in Fiji. This initiative wasn’t just about providing treatment, it was about laying a foundation for genuine, long-term partnership and demonstrating the power of collaboration.

Only a few short months after our Filter of Hope project in July, we were back on the ground in early November with our GAiN team alongside our dedicated partners from MyLocalDoc and Cornerstone Life to launch this critical five-clinic mission.

Our team ran five medical clinics across the Rakiraki and Nadi regions. The need for basic medical intervention was extremely high, but the team worked tirelessly to ensure their focus remained on the patients. We maintained a people-first approach that allowed for genuine connection.

Healthcare is about people, not just treatment.

We provided consultation and treatment to a total of 743 patients, including 672 adults and 71 children, across the five clinic sites. This volume of care also revealed critical future needs, with key community requests focused on expanding support for eye care and dental services. 

Among the most special highlights was seeing people try on their new, generously donated glasses; the sheer joy on their faces said it all!

Our team also had the opportunity to visit the local hospital, meet some of the incredible staff, and share a traditional dinner with one of the local doctors who hosted us.

We are deeply grateful for the amazing local support team in Fiji, whose warmth, organisation, and commitment were essential to the pilot’s success.

A massive thank you also goes out to the dedicated medical professionals and volunteers from Australia, especially our partners at GAiN, MyLocalDoc and Cornerstone Life. Their professionalism and shared purpose made this pilot an overwhelming success.
