GAiN strives to stand with people during disasters and emergencies. COVID-19 is no exception.
In Fiji, from the 3rd of January 2020 to mid-September 2021, there have been 40, 113 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 538 deaths. Keeping in mind, Fiji's population, 900, 000, is significantly smaller than Australia, making these statistics concerning. The good news is, as of the 26th of August 2021, a total of 864, 962 vaccine doses have been administered.
GAiN is working with our partners in Fiji, and dozens of local volunteers, to respond to this COVID crisis. Our 'Fiji COVID Relief' project will reach the local villages to Tasmavua, Lakena, and the residential areas of Nakasi and Howell Road, and Jittu Estate.
The main issue people are facing in these areas is putting food on the table. Struggling with high unemployment, low income, and high crime, COVID has just added more pressure. Through our local partners, GAiN is working to fund groceries and essential item kits to 90 families.
Could you help us reach these families during this difficult time?
$55 will supply a family with groceries containing basic food items.
Through God's grace, this is an opportunity to show compassion, and give hope, to our neighbours in Fiji.
Fiji is an opportunity to respond to God's call for us to help those in need.
Will you join us in demonstrating God’s love through prayer and compassionate action to the people of Fiji?
