Imagine sitting in a relief camp after being pulled from your rooftop, having been stranded without food and water for days. You are separated from your community, separated from your support network and waiting to return home, if there is a home left at all. This situation is the current reality for many in the state of Kerala.
Kerala is currently experiencing the worst flood it has faced in a century. Since June 2018 they have experienced 37% more than their average rainfall. This rainfall has resulted in widespread floods and landslides killing nearly 400 people and leaving thousands stranded. Many are waiting for relief efforts to reach them and are cut off by the flood waters. They are being forced to wait for basic needs, either by boat or helicopter. Many different organisations alongside the government are working overtime to reach every individual who has been affected.
GAiN and Power to Change are partnering with India Campus for Christ (ICCC) to help rebuild the lives of people in Kerala. Our goal is to raise funds to distribute food kits and school kits, helping them rebuild their lives and restore normality. Funds will be transferred to ICCC as they work with local teams to help the most at need.
What then, shall we say in response to these things?
If God is for us, who can be against us?
