GAiN Australia will be stepping out for a major community development project in India this year. Bihar is one of the North Eastern states of India with more than 85 million people. GAiN Australia will be partnering with India Campus Crusade for Christ (ICCC) to do a Solar energy project and a medical mission in Bihar this year. We have identified some remote villages in the state of Bihar, where there is no supply of electricity. In this part of India, many people live in very poor conditions without electricity, telephone, schools or hospitals.
GAiN Australia CEO Jiji Skariah had discussions with the leaders of ICCC during his visit to Bihar in September 2013. GAiN Australia has been working on these ideas for the last few months and has developed a project plan to provide electricity (solar energy systems) to some of these villages.
Gymea Baptist Church (GBC) has accepted this project and will be the major donor for this project, named as, ‘Light up Lives’ project. We need your prayers and support for this project as this is a major breakthrough to help the poor and unprivileged communities of Bihar. GAiN community development project like the ‘Light up lives’ will be a major milestone for the development of the remote villages of Bihar.
We are working on this project with Global Development Group (GDG) and will be a GDG supported community development project in India. Any donations above $2 to this project will be tax deductable. Tax deductible receipts for gifts over $2 with a preference for J822 Bihar Development Project will be issued by Global Development Group (ABN 57 102 400 993), an Australian AusAID approved NGO carrying out quality humanitarian aid and development projects with approved partners and providing aid to relieve poverty and provide long term solutions.
